It was every bit as bad as I expected. This is an old style “zoological garden” with lots of green space and pleasant sitting areas for families to stroll and picnic and just enjoy the shade. The animals are, at best, an incidental curiosity, and kept in appalling conditions. The hyenas were pacing up and down their 10 foot cages, the leopards were sprawled dully in the sand - children tormenting them all the while.
